the potential for dengue fever anywhere, can be at home, school or office
Tangerang (ANTARA) – The Tangerang-Banten City Health Office said that until June 2022, there had been 331 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), an increase compared to 2021, which was 224 cases.
“This is a disease that always comes every year and the whole community already knows it. However, it is the public’s concern for environmental cleanliness that must be increased,” said Head of the Tangerang City Health Office, Dr. Dini Anggraeni in Tangerang, Wednesday.
He explained that the reason is that the population density of transmitting mosquitoes occurs because of the large number of breeding places for mosquitoes, such as puddles of water around settlements, in gutters, used tires, cans, bottles, plastic bottles of mineral water and hanging clothes.
As a form of anticipation, the Health Office has submitted a circular to the Camat/Lurah to increase awareness and pay attention to dengue cases in the environment.

One of the efforts made is by increasing the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) movement, mutual cooperation in cleaning the environment, and again promoting the one house one larva monitoring program (jumantik).
“All health centers in Tangerang City also have environmental cadres, who move together to residents’ homes individually door to door for socialization to environmental health checks to the house. Currently, what is being intensified is checking up to the office sector. Because of the potential for dengue fever anywhere, it can be at home, school or office,” he said.
He continued, if the family had symptoms of dengue fever at home, such as sudden high fever for more than two days, red spots appeared on the skin, nosebleeds, vomiting, pain in the pit of the stomach, until the hands and feet were cold and sweaty.
“Actions that can be given are to give lots of water, compress with warm water, give fever-reducing medicine, and immediately take him to the Puskesmas or hospital if a more severe condition occurs,” he said.
