A specialist in internal medicine consultant hemato-oncology at the Tangerang District Hospital, Edi Sansaragi, explained that hemophilia patients will receive special treatment before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We give these patients an injection of blood clotting factors before vaccination. As before, they were from the room we prepared for the injection first, after they were injected they were vaccinated,” said Edi, Wednesday (1/9/2021).
Handling after the vaccine will also be different because at the time of observation of hemophilia patients it takes longer than usual. If in the general public the observation is only for 30 minutes, then for hemophilia patients the observation is carried out for 2 hours or 120 minutes.
“Then we observe at the injection site whether there are bruises, we take action to add clotting factors,” he continued. (Read also; Tangerang District Hospital Overloaded, Covid-19 Patients Selected )
