Tangerang City, Indonesia, is making significant progress in providing comprehensive care and treatment for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The city’s Health Office has implemented a multi-pronged approach, extending services across 39 community health centers, the Tangerang City Regional Hospital, and nine private hospitals.
"At community health centers, we offer essential services like counseling, HIV testing, and antiretroviral therapy," explains Dr. Dini Anggraeni, Head of the Tangerang City Health Office. "Meanwhile, hospitals cater to cases requiring more intensive treatment through referral services."

"Being HIV positive should not be a barrier to socializing, working, or building a family," she adds.
