Cinema caught fire in Kyiv

For almost ten years, disassemblies have been dragging on over its withdrawal from state property, bypassing the privatization procedure.

In Kyiv, on the Heroes of Sevastopol Street, opposite Otradny Park, the Tampere cinema is on fire. This was reported on Thursday, May 12, in the Telegram channels.

Photos and videos of the fire have been released.

The authors of the publication noted that there were no “arrivals” and, most likely, the fire of the building was not related to the war.

It is noted that the cinema was closed for a long time.

“For almost 10 years, a showdown has been going on over its withdrawal from state property, bypassing the privatization procedure,” the photo was signed.

In 1964, the first cinema in Otradnoye was opened, named after the Finnish city of Tampere, Kyiv’s sister city. It was designed for 700 spectators with a focus on children’s films and cartoons.

In the 2000s, old films were shown there, but there were few viewers. The large hall was leased to merchants. In 2008, the cinema was closed and declared unprofitable.

In 2008, the KSCA terminated the activities of the Tampere Cinema utility company and leased it to a private enterprise for five years. During this time, the tenant is obliged to attract 30 million hryvnia investment for the reconstruction of premises, but almost nothing has been done.
