Ahmedabad: Tamil Nadu Syed Mushtaq Ali reached the final of the Ali Trophy Twenty20 cricket by defeating Rajasthan by seven wickets.

Batting first, Rajasthan scored 154 for nine. In reply, Tamil Nadu won the toss and elected to bat with eight balls to spare.

Arun Karthik (89 not out off 54 balls with three sixes and nine fours) was the top scorer. Mohammad’s four-wicket haul helped Tamil Nadu reach the final.

Rajasthan fielders with leaky hands eased Tamil Nadu to victory. Hari Nishant (four), Baba Aparajith (two) and Narayanan Jagadeesan (28 off 28 balls) were out. Skipper and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik (26 off 17 balls) remained unbeaten along with Arun Karthik. Skipper Ashok Menaria (51 off 32 balls with two sixes and five fours) and Arjit Gupta (45 off 35 balls with three sixes and two fours) were the standout batsmen for Rajasthan.
