However, despite the actions carried out, the violence did not calm down because hours later it was revealed that the owner of a ranch was found dead with traces of torture and a drug message on his body.
Information provided by the Ministry of Public Security confirmed that the combat occurred at 3:30 p.m. as part of the “Rio Bravo” operation carried out by state officials and that it has been in operation for weeks.
The officers were on surveillance in the Las Flores neighborhood, on the banks of the Rio Grande, the customs office, and while walking on Manuel Peña street they were attacked with bullets by armed civilians.
The agents responded and a chase ensued until they finally overtook a GMC truck, capturing three alleged assailants and securing 3 long guns, 43 magazines, 162 cartridges for different rifle calibers, 2 bulletproof vests, a radio. of frequency and a couple of boxes with artifacts known as “tire punches”.
The search continued and later they seized a Jeep truck with armor and plates from the state of Guerrero.
However, despite the dissuasion of crime in that area, hours later the execution of the owner of the ranch “La Gloria” located between the Sabinitos and Santa Rosalía ejidos was announced.
The deceased was identified as Modesto “R” and showed signs of having been tortured.
On one side of the body was found a drug message in which a criminal group claimed the execution.
The area is being fought by the Northeast Cartel, which seeks to expand its territory from Nuevo Laredo to the south of the state, as well as in the north of Nuevo León towards Tamaulipas, while the Gulf Cartel seeks to counter this advance, since they are areas that it has controlled. .
