Talulah Willis Opens Up About Her Father Bruce Willis’ Dementia Diagnosis and Wedding Regrets

Everyone in the family tries to maintain a positive mood, but sometimes feelings take over and there is no longer enough strength to hide them. This also happened in a recent interview that Tallulah Willis gave to Vogue magazine. During the conversation, the young woman remembered how she had recently attended a friend’s wedding, where the bride’s father gave a touching speech in honor of his beloved daughter. At this moment, 29-year-old Talula realized acutely that she herself would not experience anything like that. “It was heartbreaking. I left the banquet table, went outside and cried, hiding in the bushes.”

“My father still remembers who I am. Sometimes he literally beams when I walk into the room. He is able to remember me, recognizes me, plus minus there are exceptions on bad days,” says Talula. “But at some point I suddenly realized that I would never experience the moment when my dad would talk about me at my wedding. I burst into tears. It’s very hard to realize that…”

In the interview, Talula also told about her father’s current state of health. She admitted that dementia does not affect the actor’s ability to move in any way: “Language skills are severely impaired, memory is slowly fading, but he can move – and that gives hope to all of us.”

The first symptoms of the disease began to appear in the actor in 2021. It took two years for doctors to give Willis an accurate diagnosis.

Let’s remind you that while participating in one of his last films, Bruce sometimes even forgot that he was on the set.
