The Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) is back in talks in Nigeria about the coup d’état that was staged in Niger at the end of July. The partnership had given the junta in Niger until last Sunday to release the imprisoned president and restore democracy in the country. Niger did not respond to this. Today the World Sailing Championships start in The Hague. The sixth edition of the World Cup takes place off the coast of Scheveningen.
