/ world today news/ Today will be the first working day for the deputies after the long Easter vacation. Already in the first days after the break, it is expected to start the talks on the changes in the Constitution, which would pave the way for the judicial reform.
As announced by the cabinet, they expect the changes to be supported not only by the parties in the coalition, but also by the opposition.
The amendments to the Constitution will make it possible to terminate the mandate of the current Supreme Judicial Council. The new council will have two chambers and the judges will choose their own representatives. Thus, the system is expected to remain independent of politicians and parties.
It is also proposed that the chief prosecutor should report to the National Assembly, and that the council’s decisions should not be made after a secret vote, reports Nova TV.
