When appointed as the coach of the Indonesian national team in December 2019, Shin Tae-yong was asked by PSSI to handle three teams at once. Call it the Indonesian U-19, U-23 and senior national teams.
Finally, Shin Tae-yong was exhausted from handling so many national teams. Take this year for example.
He has to bring the U-19 Indonesian National Team through a number of tournaments such as the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup and the 2022 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification. Then at the U-23 level, the Garuda Muda squad will participate in the 2021 SEA Games and 2022 Asian Games.
It didn’t stop there, Shin Tae-yong’s agenda with the senior Indonesian national team also entered the solid category. The Indonesian national team is faced with the third round of Qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup and 2022 AFF Cup.
However, the series of agenda above is not the culmination. Shin Tae-yong is targeted to bring the U-20 Indonesian national team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will be held in Indonesia.
