“A large number of weapons and equipment fell into the hands of the Mujahideen. Currently, there is a battle in the first district of the city of Sharan, and the Mujahideen are moving towards the governor’s residence,” he said.

Later, the Taliban announced that they had taken control of the building of the governor’s administration, the police station and other state institutions. The militants also seized the weapons of the government army, whose soldiers. allegedly went over to their side.

Also at night, about two thousand Taliban tried to capture the city of Maimana, the center of the Faryab province, which, along with Balkh, has not yet been captured by the militants.
