The former Vice President of Afghanistan is known to be one of the leaders of the anti-Taliban opposition forces in the Panjshir valley.

Saleh’s younger brother, Rohullah Azizi was killed a few days after the troops Taliban took control of the central province of Panjshir, the last province to stand against them.
