Taliban massacre more than 100 Afghans on Pakistan border

ACCEPTANCE – More than 100 residents of Spin Boldak, Afghanistan , dragged out of the house and killed by the Taliban on charges of being a supporter of Kabul’s civilian government.

The statement was made by a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) to Sputnik.

The Taliban claim control of nearly 90% of Afghanistan’s borders, including with Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

Afghan forces are currently engaged in a fierce battle with the Taliban to retake the entire Spin Boldak district on the Pakistani border.

“They (Taliban) massacred people in the part of the district they controlled. They raided their homes, looted their belongings and killed them,” Fawad Aman, spokesman for Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defense told Sputnik.

He claimed killings of civilians by Taliban insurgents had spiked since Eid al-Adha celebrations ended on July 21.
