Authorities recommend that all vehicle owners in Afghanistan can only offer travel to women wearing the hijab.
Afghanistan’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices has issued a directive that vehicle owners should not transport women who travel more than 72 km without being accompanied by a close male relative. On Sunday, December 26, reports Al Jazeera with reference to AFP.
“Women traveling more than 72 km should not be offered a trip unless they are accompanied by a close family member,” said ministry spokesman Sadek Akif Muhajir, adding that the accompanying man must be a close relative.
The Taliban also called on all vehicle owners to provide services only to women wearing Islamic headscarves.
In addition, music is prohibited on public vehicles.
Earlier it was reported that in Afghanistan women were forbidden to undergo treatment unaccompanied by men.
Recall that the Taliban banned TV programs featuring women… All films and TV series that contradict Islamic laws and Afghan traditions are also banned.
