Taliban fire warning shots during protests in Kabul

ACCEPTANCETaliban fired warning shots to disperse a large crowd of protesters in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Video footage from the scene shows people running to safety, as gunshots can be heard in the background.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets Tuesday to demand women’s rights and denounce the Taliban rule.

Protesters also chanted anti-Pakistan slogans as many believed neighboring Pakistan supported the Taliban. Pakistan has denied the allegation.

The Taliban leadership has banned its militias from firing warning shots into the air after several people were reported killed by such fire.
