ACCEPTANCE – Group Taliban celebrate the war victory while watching the last military transport plane United States of America (USA) leave Afghanistan on Monday midnight.

The group now in power in Afghanistan fired their rifles into the air. They celebrate victory after a nearly 20-year war they call to oust the world’s most powerful military.

“The last five planes have left, it’s over!” said Hemad Sherzad, a Taliban militia stationed at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, as quoted by AP, Tuesday (31/8/2021).

“I cannot express my happiness in words. …Our sacrifice during [hampir] 20 years of success.”

In Washington, US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander General Frank McKenzie announced the end of America’s longest war and evacuation effort, saying the last plane took off from Kabul airport at 3:29 p.m. East Coast time, or one minute before midnight Monday in Kabul.

The general admitted America could not evacuate everyone. “We didn’t get everyone we wanted out,” he said.

With its last troop leaving, the US ended nearly 20 years of war and the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
Many Afghans remain fearful of the group’s rule or further instability, and there have been sporadic reports of killings and other abuses in areas under Taliban control despite the group’s pledge to restore peace and security.

“American soldiers left Kabul airport, and our country got its full independence,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Tuesday morning.
