Taliban beat protesting women with whips in Kabul

Footage from a demonstration earlier today in Kabul shows the Taliban beating protesting women with whips. During the demonstration, the women shouted: “Long live the women of Afghanistan!” There would also be according to CNN were beaten with sticks.

Others carried placards that read ‘no cabinet can ignore the presence of women!’ The protest of mostly women took place in a neighborhood in the southwest of the capital. Footage also shows the Taliban firing warning shots over the heads of protesters. Journalists were also allegedly beaten in the protest, CNN reports.
