Sreenath VS and Nehal Maria Mathew are Under 14 All India Tennis Association Talent Series tournament champions. The children of Kerala have won singles and doubles titles in all categories. About 70 children from the states of Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andhra participated in the championship.
In the men’s singles, Srinath of Thiruvananthapuram defeated Ahbin Nanna of Malappuram Edapall to become the champion. She scores 6-3, 6-3. Nehal, a native of Ernakulam, won the title by beating Lakshmi Shahana 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 in the women’s singles. In the men’s doubles, Srinath Srikarthik beat Advait and Suven. Score 6-1, 6-1.
In the women’s doubles, Pavitra and Vaiga defeated Gauri and Deepshikha. Marks 5-7, 7-5, 10-4. The tournament was jointly organized by the Kerala Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs and Sports Kerala Foundation under the leadership of the Kerala Tennis Association and the Thiruvananthapuram District Tennis Association.
