PAPUA, KOMPAS.TV – The Action of Taking Hostages by the Armed Criminal Group (KKBO) against the Pilots and Passengers of Susi Air ended in negotiations.

Head of Information for Kogabwilhan III Colonel CZI IGN Suriastawa explained that during the hostage-taking of New Zealand pilot Captain Ian John Terrence Hellyer and three Papuan passengers Ricky Dolame, Arikala Dolame, and Arike Wandikbo did not experience violence.

However, the pilot and three passengers were traumatized because they were worried about their safety because they were pointed at a gun.

“Even though there were no victims, this incident shows the KSB terror acts in the Papua region, including terror against civil aviation activities. And we always coordinate closely with the police,” said Suriastawa through his statement.

The hostage took place around 06.20 WIT, 30 KKB members arrived at Wangbe Airport carrying two long -barreled firearms.

When the KKB was taken hostage, the KKB threatened the pilots so that the airline aircraft belonging to PT Asi Pudjiastuti Aviation would not carry passengers from the TNI-Polri apparatus.
