The head of the Parliamentary Women and Children Committee, Representative Inaya Ezzedine, denounced the murder of Zainab Zuaiter, who was “brutally killed in front of her children.”
Ezzeddine considered, “The repetition of these heinous crimes requires all those concerned in the various security, judicial, cultural and religious sites to work hard to stop this type of crime and other cases of rape and harassment. The perpetrators will be punished and the most severe penalties will be imposed on them on the one hand, and through the establishment of civil society and religious institutions to condemn these crimes and confront them socially and culturally on the other hand.
She pointed out, “It is a great shame for the Lebanese society to record an increase in cases of violence against women, leading to murder. Quick measures must be taken to stop this path for the health and safety of women, society and the country.”
