It seems that Fabio Martins, the former player of Al-Wahda (Excellent), will not continue his career in the ADNOC Professional League, as the circulating news says.
Since last September, the Emirati newspaper, “Al-Khaleej”, has reported the interest of a “big club” in the competition for the Portuguese player’s services.
Al-Khaleej explained that the local club is interested in Martins due to his manager’s belief in him, as they consider him one of the best wings with individual solutions.
However, the Greek website “Hellas” has claimed that there is a match between PAOK and Olympiacos, the two poles of Greek football, to get Martins’ signing.
The site learned that the 29-year-old had been offered to Olympiacos since last August when he was still tied to the owners, but the coach of the team at the time, had stopped without closing the deal, as the player was considered “extremist” in playing offensive roles, and did not possess the characteristics that will need it.
Hellas confirmed that Martins was back on Olympiacos’ radar.
As for PAOK, the site wrote that last September Al-Wahda had asked the Greek club for one million euros to do without the owner of the number 11 shirt, before terminating his contract with him.
