Take-Two buys mobile gaming giant Zynga

the publisher Take-Two acquired mobile gaming giant Zynga, in a $12.7 billion deal, an amount even greater than the purchase of Bethesda on the part of Microsoft.

A Take-Two already holds, for example, the Rockstar from GTA or from Red Dead Redemption, a 2K from NBA 2K, Mafia, among others and even tried last year to buy Codemasters which was later acquired by Electronic Arts.

A Zynga is responsible for successful mobile games such as FarmVille e Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells. This bet in the mobile markets will take the games of the Take-Two to new horizons and who knows if we will still see a GTA Mobile in the future.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two will be the new executive of Zynga and will incorporate the T2 Mobile Games. About the purchase, the CEO said that it “significantly diversifies our business and establishes our leadership position in mobile devices, the fastest growing segment of the interactive entertainment industry”.

For Zynga, CEO Frank Gibeau revealed that this is an opportunity to “advance further in the mission of connecting the world through games”, leveraging “Take-Two’s resources” and “Zynga’s experience”.
