As vaccination for a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) has begun in the United States, etc., demand for dry ice, which is essential for transporting cryogenic vaccines, is exploding.
According to the China Global Times on the 14th, Chinese companies that supply dry ice manufacturing equipment are operating their factories as much as possible amid a burst of orders.
Fengwin Industries, a dry ice production equipment company in Shanghai, has exported to the United States 10-20 times more than a year ago, and especially in the last two months, exports of 10 units a day have soared. The company explained that its market competitiveness is high because its production cost is only a quarter of that of the US.
The industry predicts that the shortage of dry ice in the US and Europe will become more serious if the vaccine is released one after another, and it will not be resolved within half a year.
Pfizer is also expanding its own dry ice production line in the face of a shortage of dry ice. Currently, it produces 10 tons of dry ice per day, but plans to increase it to 100 tons.
