JawaPos.com – For gamers who want to enjoy a large collection of games, it seems that Microsoft Xbox Series X could be the right console. This is because this console supports the compatibility of games originating from the original Xbox as long as the game is compatible with Xbox One X.
Then what about the Sony PS5? Unfortunately for gamers, it seems that Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has confirmed in an interview with Famitsu that the company’s latest console will not be compatible with games designed for the PS3 or earlier.
“When we produced the device, we thought they should also want to play PS4 titles on the PS5, so we included compatibility with PS4,” said Ryan.
When implementing that, Ryan continued, his party also focused efforts on using a high-speed SSD and the new DualSense controller simultaneously. “So, unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve that kind of compatibility implementation,” added Ryan.
Obviously, this is a bit of a shame for PS5 gamers hoping to access more games than just those designed for the PS4 and PS5.
“However, we don’t think this is a big problem because one of the reasons gamers are upgrading to newer consoles is to enjoy new hardware and games that are optimized for it, but there is still something to watch out for,” he explained.
