Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Clubhouse will allow its users to make money from this social audio app. This is the first time Clubhouse has allowed monetization of its business.
So later on, content creators will be able to receive payments or send money from the participants. Clubhouse said it would not take a cut from the revenue earned by content creators. For the initial stage this feature will be tested in a small group.
Clubhouse said that since the beginning this application had the principle of building a platform that prioritized content creators. The goal is to help content creators to build community, audience and influence.
“Today we are very pleased to start launching Payment, our monetization feature for content creators at Clubhouse,” wrote Clubhouse in its official statement, as quoted on Tuesday (6/4/2021).
“All users can send money today, and we will be rolling out the ability to receive payments incrementally.”
Here’s how to make money from the Clubhouse:
- To send money at Clubhouse, simply tap on the profile of a creator (who has this feature enabled) and tap “Send Money”.
- Enter the amount of money you want to send. The first time you do this, you will be asked to register a credit or debit card.
- 100% of the payment will go to creators. The person sending the money will also be charged a card processing fee, which will go directly to the payment processing partner, Stripe. The clubhouse won’t take anything away.
