Deputy Minister I of BUMN Pahala Nugraha Mansury said that later this IBC could become a company that could cooperate with potential partners.
“So a company can sign a joint venture (jv) cooperation with potential partners,” he explained in the online forum ‘BUMN Media Talk, EV Battery: The Future of Indonesia’s Economy’, Tuesday (02/02/2021).
According to him, the supply chain for the battery industry is very long, starting from mining, smelters, manufacturing precursor factories, and others.
“Now covering all the value chains is Indonesia Battery Corporation (Indonesia Battery Holding). It is owned by four companies, MIND ID, Antam, PLN, and Pertamina. We always say we have to be integrated,” explained the former President Director of Bank BTN.
On the upstream side there are Antam, MIND ID, and on the downstream side there are Pertamina and PLN. According to him, the holding that has been formed can cooperate with potential partners, such as from China, South Korea, the United States and European countries.
“Indeed, 3-4 countries global players can bring money, bring technology, and bring the market, so that what is produced in each part of the value chain of EV products and batteries we cooperate,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Electric Vehicle Battery Project Acceleration Team, Agus Tjahajana Wirakusumah, revealed that the four BUMNs received the same share ownership percentage.
“The share ownership portion of each BUMN in the IBC consortium is 25% with the aim of maintaining neutrality and accountability, encouraging synergy and alignment throughout the battery EV ecosystem,” said Agus, at the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII DPR RI, Monday (01/02/2021).
Pahala emphasized that the formation of the IBC is targeted to be formed in the first semester of this year.
