The Superintendence of Banks (SIB) reminds that banks, branches and banking agencies will remain closed starting this Friday, December 29 at noon.
This is detailed through an official statement:

“Banks, branches and banking agencies can close on December 29, half a day in the afternoon, holiday at the end of the financial year. As well as Monday, January 1, corresponding to the New Year’s holiday.”
Said permit was authorized through the Monetary Board, which is also aimed at financial companies, insurance companies, storage companies, exchange houses and microfinance companies.

The attention
In this sense, the SIB points out that it is aware that it is at the discretion of each entity to provide its services through an agency, special window or similar.
The authorities indicated that citizens will be able to consult the list of banking agencies that will provide special service during the holiday, at www.sib.gob.gt.
In addition, all offices of the Superintendency of Banks will remain closed. It is at the discretion of each entity to provide its services through an agency, special window or similar.
Likewise, traffic authorities recommend not holding back and making purchases virtually, also to avoid difficulties due to intense traffic at the end of the year.
Reactivation of work
Finally, they reported that on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, work in the banking systems will be reactivated.
The cash flow will be maintained in ATMs, which are at the service of the population in shopping centers and other strategic points.
The SIB is the technical body that acts under the general direction of the Monetary Board.
