Take a peek at the list of smartphone brands that are ready to adopt 15W fast charging

Jakarta, Selular.ID – In recent years, there has been a significant increase in charging capacity, mostly from Android manufacturers. In this case, it is said that Oppo and Xiaomi are at the peak of fast charging development.

Oppo’s VOOK flash charging technology always has excellent charging speed with strong stability. Oppo has recently made another breakthrough in the field of fast charging.

Yesterday (5/12/21), a leaker from Digital Chat Station claimed that Oppo’s 150W fast charging is on its way and will be releasing in the near future. According to reports, Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme smartphones will sport 150W fast charging capacities.

Oppo has been testing the production of a 10A system data cable and charger. This means that Oppo’s 150W fast charging technology has gradually matured. However, even though Oppo’s 150W is being prepared, that doesn’t mean it will be available soon. Further according to the DCS reveal, the next wave of Oppo and OnePlus new phones will continue to use 65W and 80W fast charging.

Currently, the fast charging speed of mobile phones has exceeded the 100W limit, which is 120W. But not all manufacturers use this fast charging technology. Oppo is now on its way to setting a new fast charging record in the smartphone industry. However, there are reports that Xiaomi is already working on a 200W fast charging capacity.

Taking the iQOO 5 Pro as an example, to achieve ultra-high power fast charging, the iQOO uses a half-voltage charging pump scheme. It can make the voltage entering the battery half of the charger voltage, and convert the high voltage and low current of AC power into the low voltage and high voltage required by the battery. This configuration significantly increases the overall charging speed.

In addition, iQOO has achieved 120W (20V/6A) charging power through an upgraded charging pump IC solution. This allows the technology to reach the peak voltage and current defined by the Type-C port. In addition, it has an energy conversion efficiency of 97%.

Then, in the battery solution, iQOO creatively adopts the “double cell series connection” method, plus two charging pump charging ICs. Both ICs are charged at a rate of 6C, which greatly increases the charge rate.

In short, with the improvement of the charging pump IC solution and the battery solution, the 150W fast charging technology will once again refresh the charging speed record. It’s still uncertain who will launch 150W fast charging first, we’ll just have to wait.
