Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova, the mother of Chairman of the People’s Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and grandmother of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has died. The State News Agency of Turkmenistan writes about this.
Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova was born on June 15, 1937 in the village of Babarap, Gokdepe etrap. Her life, the report notes, has become an example of loyalty to the people and the family hearth, educating the younger generation on the basis of noble qualities, love, reverent concern for the preservation and continuation of national traditions and art.
– May her soul rest in paradise, may the Almighty accept her into his abode! – says the text.
In May last year, Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova was awarded the title of Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan for her great contribution to the development of the national art of carpet weaving.
