(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 23 – “I just spoke with the ambassador to Turkey Marrapodi and he gave me the latest updates on the situation after the attack. Calm has returned, there were 11 Italians who were in the area where there was this terrorist attack but they were always safe and were never in real danger.” Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this on the sidelines of the G7 Development meeting in Pescara. “They have always been in contact with the embassy, with the companies with which they work and therefore for the moment it seems to me that we can be absolutely positive regarding our fellow citizens. Unfortunately when there are terrorist attacks we cannot help but feel sorry, send a message of solidarity with the Turkish people for what happened”, underlined Tajani. “Whatever organization the terrorists belong to, there is no possibility of recognizing political dignity for those who carry out such attacks. Shooting innocents is always a horrendous crime therefore we condemn solidarity with Turkey and closeness to the Turkish people”. (HANDLE).
