Tajani meets the industrialists of Bergamo

Farnesina

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, met today with representatives of the industrial world of the Province of Bergamo.
The meeting, which took place at Kilometro Rosso, one of the main European innovation districts, was attended by, among others, the top management of Confindustria Bergamo, Gewiss, Scaglia Indeva, Carvico, Montello, Brembo, the Percassi group and Assolatte .
“I am here today to reiterate to our entrepreneurs that the Government listens to them and strongly supports them to face the challenges of a complex and rapidly evolving international situation” said Vice President Tajani. “It is essential to dialogue with the productive fabric of Lombardy, the beating heart of our foreign trade, with a total value of 162 billion, equal to 26% of national exports in the last year”.
During the meeting Tajani also illustrated the tools that the Farnesina makes available to exporting companies. “Thanks to subsidized finance instruments such as the 394/81 Fund and thanks to the action of the ICE Agency, we strongly support exporting companies, we help them to get back on their feet in times of difficulty and to develop more flexible and crisis-resilient value chains” – he has declared.
The objective of the Vice Prime Minister’s mission was also to guarantee the maximum involvement of Lombardy companies in the economic diplomacy initiatives promoted by the Farnesina: “With the missions for growth I have noticed a strong increase in the demand for Italian know-how everywhere. The numerous Lombard companies that participated in our promotional initiatives abroad have fully understood the potential of this extraordinary opportunity for growth. By joining forces with an eye to the future, we will be increasingly stronger on international markets.”
In expressing their main needs, the entrepreneurs who spoke emphasized the need to achieve true energy independence, which can lower production costs, the redevelopment of urban areas, the consolidation of companies operating in areas considered strategic and of the possibility of consolidating regular immigration flows, with an overall evolution of the quota system and professional training of citizens coming from abroad. At the same time, the Bergamo industrialists confirmed to Vice Prime Minister Tajani their support for the formulation of the “Mattei plan” for Africa, sharing with the Italian Government a “non-neo-colonial nor paternalistic approach to a continent that for Italy and Europe will be a decisive partner”.
