The Taj Mahal, a masterpiece of Indian Islamic art
The majestic white marble building and the sight of tourists from all over the world seem relaxed as usual.
However, the Yamuna River flowing through the back of the building is truly an emergency.
This is because the water level has risen to 152m, just 40cm short of the dangerous level.

The river reached the top of the red sandstone walls outside the Taj Mahal.
When the river swells and oversteps these walls, it hits the white marble walls, damaging them and possibly flooding some facilities.
The last time the Taj Mahal was submerged beyond its walls was in 1978, when the water level reached 154.7m.
The Red Fort, a famous tourist attraction near the upper reaches of the Yamuna River, has already been mostly submerged.
As the rainy season, which began at the beginning of last month, continued for more than a month, damages are continuing in various parts of India.
More than 600 people have died and hundreds of thousands have been displaced in unrelated accidents.

A landslide occurred in the central mountainous region of Colombia, South America, due to torrential rains that lasted overnight.
Homes and cars quickly get buried in mud as rescuers scramble to find the missing people.

The landslide killed more than 10 residents and closed major roads to the surrounding area.
