According to data released by the Japan Tourism Agency, in terms of total annual consumption in a single country, Taiwan has the highest tourism consumption, reaching 778.6 billion yen, accounting for 14.7% of the total, followed by China (759.9 billion yen) and South Korea (744.4 billion yen). , the United States (606.2 billion yen) and Hong Kong (479.5 billion yen).
In addition, the average travel consumption per person of foreign tourists visiting Japan in 2023 will be 212,000 yen (approximately NT$45,297), an increase of 33.8% compared to 2019. In terms of consumption items, accommodation expenses accounted for the highest proportion of travel expenses, accounting for 34.6% of the total, followed by shopping (26.4%) and dining expenses (22.6%).

If compared with the data in 2019, the average length of stay increased by 1.3 days to 10.2 days.
