Taiwan vs Indonesia: Witan Sulaeman Threatens Opponent

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Witan Sulaeman, who did not play in the first leg against Taiwan, targets a goal in the second match which will take place at Chang Arena Stadium, Buriram, Thailand, Monday (11/10).

The player who is now wearing the Lechia Gdansk costume did not play in the first meeting which ended in victory Indonesian National team.

Witan was late in joining due to a change in the flight schedule from Poland to Thailand, so he was only able to meet Evan Dimas and his friends on Thursday (7/10) or coincided with the day of the first leg match.

Not playing in the first match, Witan was enthusiastic about facing the Taiwan vs Indonesia meeting and expressed his desire to score goals.

“Yes, of course I want to score goals, but the most important thing is that we can win the game and can play well and all are in good condition after the match,” said Witan, quoted from PSSI’s official YouTube.

Victory is also the target of Witan in the second leg of the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying playoff.

“Automatically what we will do together is to win, it is mandatory. We have to win games because it is also to raise FIFA rankings,” explained Witan.

Witan has the experience of scoring two goals against Taiwan during the 2018 U-19 Asian Cup. These two goals brought the U-18 Indonesian national team to a 3-1 win, after Egy Maulana Vikri’s goal was returned by a Taiwanese player.

This player who can play as a central midfielder or winger on the right and left adds options for coach Shin Tae Yong in placing suitable players to break down Taiwan’s tight defense.

In the first leg, Shin put Irfan Jaya and Ricky Kambuaya as wide players in a 4-4-2 formation, with the support of two full backs, Asnawi Mangkualam and Miftah Anwar Sani.
