Taiwan Railway said at 14:12 the electric maintenance vehicle went to the site for emergency repair. The detailed damage and the time to complete the emergency repair are still being assessed. Regarding the cause of the accident, Taiwan Railway said it is under investigation by the Transportation Safety Bureau.
Taiwan Railways stated that if the train with the same number is delayed for more than 45 minutes, passengers can go to each station for a full refund within one year, or take a train of the same class in the same interval for free once; if the delay exceeds 45 minutes, passengers can change to trains of the same class in the same interval once within a year. Passengers with an e-ticket can request 0 yuan to cancel the card and passengers with a commuter ticket can use it for an extension of a day.
