Taiwan ask Indonesia demanding and condemning massive military exercises China who blockaded his territory due to anger with the visit of the Chairman of the DPR AS, Nancy Pelosithe Taipei.
China has held military drills simulating war and firing missiles at six points around Taiwan since Thursday (4/8).
“I hereby call on all circles in Indonesia to condemn China’s destructive military actions the status quo Taiwan and threatens regional peace and stability, and demands that China immediately stop all military provocations,” said the chairman of the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO), John Chen, in an official statement on Friday (5/8).

He also appealed to the people in Indonesia to continue to show solidarity with Taiwan in the midst of Chinese pressure so that they can jointly defend democratic values and maintain peace and stability in the international order.
Indonesia itself does not have official relations with Taiwan because it maintains diplomatic relations with China and upholds the One China principle.
For Beijing, every country that has diplomatic relations with it must implement the One China policy. The principle states that China is the official government of its territory which includes mainland China, Tibet, Hong Kong, Macau, to Taiwan.
Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping’s administration views Pelosi’s visit, the third-highest official in the United States, to Taiwan as a sign of Washington’s support for Taipei, which insists on independence.
Furthermore, Taiwan considers peace in the Taiwan Strait to be very important for regional and global peace and stability.
“At the same time it will also affect the welfare of most of the Indonesian diaspora in Taiwan,” said John.
The Taipei representative considered China’s military exercises a serious violation of international law, endangering regional peace and stability.
At least a number of projectiles and 11 ballistic missiles were launched by China into the Taiwan Strait. Some of the missiles were even reported to have flown over Taiwan and landed in Japanese waters.
John said the Chinese military exercises affected the operations of 17 international shipping lanes, and 7 international ports from Taiwan. He said some of these Chinese exercises had “invaded territorial waters, areas adjacent to Taiwan.”
Tensions between China and Taiwan escalated, especially after Beijing fired projectiles and 11 ballistic missiles into the Taiwan Strait and its surroundings on Thursday (4/8) afternoon.
The firing of this missile took place as China began a massive military exercise at six points surrounding Taiwan. The exercise started this afternoon at around 12.00 local time until Sunday (7/8).
The war simulation, which includes training to shoot long-range ammunition, was carried out by China when it was angry with the visit of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, to Taiwan last Wednesday.
A number of reporters AFP saw several small projectiles being fired from a nearby Chinese military installation at around 13:13 local time. Plumes of white smoke and loud explosions were also heard as the projectiles were fired.
Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said China also started firing a number of Dongfeng ballistic missiles in waters northeast and southwest of Taiwan at 1:56 p.m. local time.
Not only that, two missiles were launched by China towards Taiwan’s Matsu islands at around 14:00 local time. The two missiles headed for two military drill points that China had previously announced.
Since then, China has launched a number of ballistic missiles into the region and sent dozens of fighter jets and warships into the Taiwan Strait.
