A tailor-made fun and educational discovery trail
During this day, children will be invited to take part in immersive visits to the Château and its gardens. These surprising routes have been specially designed and set up by teams from the Palace of Versailles.
In the large apartments of the King and Queen and in the Hall of Mirrors, a participatory storytelling tour entitled The Golden Goblet will challenge young visitors to calm the anger of the King who will be interpreted by an actor.
In the gardens, a course will feature young Célie whom the children will have to help find Léandre, her lost fiancé, in a race against time from the Neptune basin to the Water Theater grove…
After a picnic at the Orangerie, the lunch break will be enlivened by a discovery of wooden games of yesteryear, such as the mail game or the bowling game.
An exemplary commitment
The Palace of Versailles and the Emerige group have joined forces every year since 2016 to welcome young children from the Paris region who do not go on vacation. Since the beginning of this partnership, nearly 30,000 children have enjoyed an exceptional day during which the Château and its gardens are entirely dedicated to them.
Emerige, militant patron of culture
Convinced that art can change everyday life, Emerige encourages bringing culture closer to all audiences, especially the youngest. It supports artistic and cultural education programs including “A Holiday Day at Versailles”, the Autumn Festival and La Source by Gérard Garouste. Each year, 15,000 children benefit from these initiatives. As the first signatory of the “1 building, 1 work” charter, Emerige also contributes to the development of art in the city by systematically installing a work in each building that it builds or rehabilitates. Since 2016, more than 100 works have been commissioned from artists.
The Palace of Versailles’ commitment to priority audiences
Committed to the fight against all forms of discrimination for a long time, the Palace of Versailles organizes special moments every year for all audiences. In partnership with associations and patrons, the Palace of Versailles does more than just open its doors: these are truly fun and cultural trails designed by the cultural development teams. In 2022, nearly 177,000 people benefited from these programs.
