Aged 15, 17 and 19, the suspects live in the Mermoz district (8th arrondissement), where the inscriptions were found at the beginning of the month. They will be presented to the prosecution this Friday.
Three people were arrested at the beginning of the week, as part of the investigation into the tags threatening the police discovered in the 8th arrondissement in early May. On the night of May 7 to 8, threatening inscriptions had been drawn in white paint on the walls of the Jean-Macé school in Lyon.
“Ball in the forehead for Eric Masson. Next target => BST of the 8th”, could one read on the inscription, targeting the Specialized Field Brigade and referring to the homicide of a police officer, a few days more early in Avignon.
The three people arrested this Wednesday morning were taken into custody. They will be presented this Friday to the Lyon prosecutor’s office “with a view to their indictment in the context of the opening of a judicial investigation,” said the national police in a statement.
“Evidence” identified
Aged 15, 17 and 19, the alleged perpetrators live in the Mermoz district, near the Jean-Macé school. According to the police, “evidence tending to confirm their presence at the scene of the facts”.
The Rhône prefecture denounced “serious, intolerable threats” after the discovery of these inscriptions. “When we attack a police officer, we attack each of us,” had hammered Thierry Suquet, the delegated prefect for defense and security in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
