Germany has 53 MTEs in 130 hospitals and clinics, while India has 18 trained MTEs, with eight more in training. Tata Memorial Hospital is seeking to scale-up the MTE model in India through partnerships and government integration in public breast cancer screening. The growth of the model could provide a successful and dignified career to blind women and help debunk associated myths.
