The Philippine government is seeking private sector assistance for the improvement and management of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with plans to sign a public-private partnership agreement this year. Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno added that 80 major airport upgrades will be completed by the end of 2023, and that the government plans to privatize the management of airports, including those in Legazpi, Laguindingan, and Iloilo. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s economic team has been pushing for greater private sector involvement in projects.
