Two High Court judges have refused to hear an application by the sister of remand prisoner Simeon Burke for an inquiry into the lawfulness of her brother’s detention. Ammi Burke disputed claims that she lacked the legal standing to seek an inquiry into her brother’s alleged “unlawful” arrest and detention. Burke has been in custody since March 7 on a charge of denying a breach of peace offence following events at the Court of Appeal.
