Dusan Tadic is proud of Ajax: the Amsterdammers can officially the Eredivisietitle against FC Emmen. The Serbian looks back on this season and also discusses the problem with Denzel Dumfries in the top match against PSV.
“Our team has a strong mentality. That’s important, every player has his role in it,” Tadic said in conversation with the US. The Ajax captain then looks back on the match against FC Twente in its own Johan Cruijff Arena. The Tukkers lost 1-2. “Our worst game of the season. But it was good that we lost this game, I think. After that we were extra sharp.”
Ajax entered January as the leader of the Eredivisie, with a one point lead over PSV. The top match against the Eindhoven team was drawn 2-2, after trailing 0-2. “With the 2-0 deficit, it is important to take responsibility. That’s how it feels to me: when the going gets tough, I have to get up,” Tadic continues.
After the 1-1 the Ajax captain got into trouble with Dumfries, but Tadic does not want to make the incident bigger than it is. “Football is emotion and passion, I always say. That is great”, Tadic concludes, who indicates that he then spoke with the PSV captain.
