Tadej Pogacar on Tour course: “Would have liked to see more arrivals uphill” | Tour

Next summer, the Tour will present a route from the old days. “Interesting”, says Tadej Pogacar.

“The first week I expect some stress. The wind will blow and the weather will make it a tough race”, says the young Slovenian. “The time trial will probably be flat, but it has to suit me.”

“Then we set course for the Alps for some tough stages. We are going to be able to climb a lot. Twice the Ventoux in one day promises to be legendary.”

After the Alps, the Pyrenees arrive quickly. “I love those mountains,” laughs Tadej Pogacar. “I enjoyed it this year, hopefully I will succeed again.”

“I especially like stages through Andorra. I’ve already experienced that once in the Vuelta.”

“We close the Tour with a time trial. It looks flat and less technical.”

“In summary, it will be a classic Tour. I would have liked to see a few more finishes uphill. Now there are only 3.”

“It doesn’t matter much, because it is the riders who make the race hard”, Pogacar says.
