‘Tackling Modern Slavery’ | What you say

The Teylers Museum will soon open the exhibition Vogelpracht by the 18th century artist John James Audubon. The management of the museum found out that this famous artist was not only a bird painter, but also a slave driver.

The museum is now considering what to do with this exhibition and how it should be solved politically correctly. Perhaps they can place a sign with the information that this painter dates from the 18th century, slave trade was the norm at the time, fortunately not for a long time now, but slave driving is unfortunately still applicable in the current century.

An example is the construction of the football stadiums in Qatar where more than 6,500 (so far registered) people lost their lives under horrific conditions. Shame is talked about but as always there is a lot of money involved and then this modern slavery is dropped. How hypocritical can you be?
