Table tennis – Boll-Klub Düsseldorf and Saarbrücken in the quarter-finals – out for Mühlhausen

Düsseldorf (SID) – The German table tennis star Timo Boll and the record champions Borussia Düsseldorf reached the quarter-finals at the Champions League final tournament in their own hall as group winners, as did the German champions 1. FC Saarbrücken. However, the third German participant was eliminated. Post SV Mühlhausen only took third place in the group after the 2: 3 against the Polish representative Bogoria Grodzisk.

Düsseldorf won against the Polish representative KS Dzialdowo 3-2 on Sunday and thus celebrated their third victory. Decisive for the advancement was the 3-0 Borussia on Saturday against the French top club GV Hennebont.

After two wins, the Saarbrücken team, who were also favorites, were already in the round of the last eight. Against the Danish club from Roskilde there was a 3-0 on Saturday. The third game against AS Pontoise-Cergy TT was on Sunday evening (9 p.m.).

Due to the corona pandemic, this season the premier class will be played in tournament form in a protected “bubble” within eight game days at the German Table Tennis Center in Düsseldorf.
