Serial killers, ghosts, zombies, supernatural presences, abominations. These are all some of the elements that belong to the horror genre, which has been a very successful genre since the beginning of cinema for over a century. Always a fictionalized reflection of the present moment, horror has been changing and expanding its boundaries day by day.

1. Influences of the horror genre: Gothic literature from the late 19th century. European influence on the first black and white short films. The journey to Hollywood by artists from the old continent.
2. Consolidation in the 30s and 40s with the emergence of Hollywood as an industry: Dracula and Frankenstein and the Universal monsters.
3. The wild 60s with Roger Corman in the United States. Hammer in England. Japan and ghost stories.
4. Slasher, splatter, gore. The seventies as an explosion of bloody cinema influenced by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and Hersell Gordon Lewis.
5. Giallo and mondo cinema. The Italian tradition with Dario Argento, Mario Bava and their disciples. Scream and meta cinema. The resurgence of the slasher, torture porn and the contribution of France and Spain.
6. The beginning of the 21st century with J-Horror. Consolidation as the public’s favorite genre. Blumhouse, Atomic Dog and other producers. A24 and elevated horror.

He was a journalist at El Exprimidor (FM program hosted by Ari Paluch) for 19 years. He was a contributor to international interviews on Viva, Clarín’s Sunday magazine, and on the MSN.com Latin America portal, La Cosa, Miradas de Cablevisión and La Nación Revista. He was director of the entertainment section of El Economista. He hosted El Acomodador on the Volver channel for three years and was called by Channel 13 as a film specialist for several years.
