T-Mobile T Tablet Review: Features, Price, and Performance

T-Mobile sells its own branded tablet called the T Tablet
With a promotional price of 999 crowns, it is an interesting device for the whole family

The Czech operator T-Mobile has decided to expand its portfolio of hardware gadgets. The smartphone duo T Phone and T Phone Pro expanded this summer with a tablet with the prosaic name T Tablet. At first glance, it looks like a pancake from five years ago, but at the price for which the operator sells it, it is de facto unrivaled.

Design – folk pancake

The design is probably the tablet’s weakest point. However, some people will undoubtedly be impressed by the minimalist appearance, which is in line with the design of T Phones. The all-aluminum construction has practically only a slightly contrasting manufacturer’s logo on the back and a photo module with two lenses and LED illumination. The dimensions of the device are 247 x 157 x 7.9 millimeters and the weight is 488 grams.

But I was a little surprised by how flexible the body actually behaves when trying to bend. The sides are made of plastic, mainly because of the antenna strips that allow the signal to be conducted. In the overall concept of the device, however, the plastic lines do not look ugly, but rather nicely complement the design.

On the right, there is a rocker for volume control and a magenta-colored power button, the left side is bare and contains only a slot for a nanoSIM card and a microSD card. There is a speaker at the bottom and top, so the tablet supports stereo sound. On the bottom edge we can find a USB-C port for charging.

The front side belongs to the display. In this case, it is of the IPS LCD type and has a diagonal of 10.36″. A relatively small tablet, you might say. But the experience is spoiled by the nearly centimeter frames around the display. Well, at least you have somewhere to rest your thumbs when holding the tablet with both hands.

The display panel is otherwise rather basic, don’t expect any extreme visual experience. The colors are a bit washed out and the resolution is just right for easy use. With a resolution of 1200 × 2000 pixels, the raster is visible even without a magnifying glass, which is also confirmed by the fineness of 225 pixels per inch. Also, the refresh rate is only a basic 60 Hz.

Equipment and eSIM support

The main power unit inside the T Tablet is MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 octa-core chipset. The main word here is a duo of powerful Cortex-A76 cores with a maximum clock rate of 2.2 GHz, the rest of the cores are of a more economical type. In any case, the T Tablet is no asphalt breaker, but it is more than sufficient for surfing the Internet, watching videos, or playing less demanding games.

Don’t overlook

T-Mobile introduced its own tablet. It is capable of 5G, eSIM, and with a tariff you can buy it for only a thousand

To demonstrate the performance, we put the tablet through several popular benchmarks. It scored 354,398 points in AnTuTu v10, 323 points in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, and 685 points in single-core and 641 points in multi-core in Geekbench version 6. It is also important to mention that the device has 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM.

From other equipment, it is worth mentioning Wi-Fi 5, 5G, even eSIM, Bluetooth 5.1 and also a 7040mAh lithium-polymer battery that supports 15W charging. Just be careful, the relevant socket adapter is not included in the package, so T-Mobile will sell you one separately for around 200 crowns. The operating system is Android 13 with the September security update.

The tablet doesn’t have GPS or any other localization system, it doesn’t have NFC, and it doesn’t even have a 3.5mm jack. Perhaps even worse, the operator does not sell any cover or stand for it, putting the product at a slight disadvantage to the competition.

As for the camera, it is generally more “in number” for tablets. The T-Mobile T Tablet has an 8 Mpx main camera and a 2 Mpx accompanying sensor. The photos that the tandem produces are really only for the most necessary cases. However, the ability to take portrait pictures and video will please, even if only in Full HD resolution and 30 fps.

Tip: all test images in full resolution can be found here

The 8 Mpx selfie camera shows slightly better results. You can use this either for video calls (if you manage to fix the tablet in a stand), or for unlocking the tablet, since the manufacturer forgot to offer a fingerprint reader. It must be praised that despite the absence of a secondary front camera, the portrait mode produces a fairly decent bokeh effect.

Price and availability

T-Mobile T Tablet is unique in its own way. This is no ordinary tablet. The operator mainly offers it to new clients to sign a contract. And with that comes a very interesting price, which amounts to 999 crowns including VAT. Similar to the T Phone for 1 crown, you simply have to make different demands here. The tablet is full of bugs, but it is certainly better than any tablet for a thousand from Chinese e-shops.

The badge from the operator is specifically available for the Unlimited XL mobile tariff with unlimited calls, SMS and data package. You surf at full speed for the first 15 GB, then unlimited with a reduced speed of 10 Mb/s. This tariff will cost 930 crowns per month, and by purchasing a tablet with a discounted price of 999 crowns, you commit to paying the tariff for 24 months.

That’s probably the only, albeit quite essential, catch. At a price of 999 crowns, the tablet is definitely unbeatable, but we recommend it only to clients who are willing to “put on their backs” even the aforementioned commitment. Without a discount, the tablet will cost 5,999 crowns, and that is already a price for which it cannot be recommended. For example, an Honor Pad 8 with the same price but higher performance will definitely do an excellent job as well.
