T-Mobile is the first telecom provider in the Netherlands to introduce Multisim. A new service with which T-Mobile customers with Apple Watch cellular models can call and surf the internet via 4G without a smartphone in their pocket. The new service is suitable for customers who use an iPhone and an Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) and links both devices to the same phone number and subscription. Multisim can be ordered from 29 October and available from Friday 5 November.
In this way T-Mobile is meeting a specific wish of the Dutch consumer. Until today, connectivity on an Apple Watch in the Netherlands was only possible with a paired iPhone nearby. T-Mobile is the first provider in the Netherlands to change this and make it possible for customers to go out without their iPhone in their pocket and still be able to call and use the internet via their Apple Watch. All bundled on one monthly invoice.
Using eSim
T-Mobile Multisim links iPhone and Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) by means of eSim – electronically built-in SIM cards – to the same telephone number. A call arrives on both devices at the same time until it is answered on one of the devices. Data can be used on both devices simultaneously, so customers can watch a series on their iPhone while answering messages via their Apple Watch.
Always connected
Leo Hensen, Director of Marketing & Communications at T-Mobile Netherlands: “Thanks to T-Mobile Multisim, consumers can finally take full advantage of their Apple Watch and always stay connected in the way that suits them.”
Multisim subscriptions can be ordered from Friday 29 October in combination with the cellular model of the Apple Watch Series 7 for customers with a Go subscription. Both will be available from Friday, November 5. Customers who already own an Apple Watch cellular model can also take out a Multisim subscription from 5 November. A Multisim subscription costs 5 Euro per month.
