Since yesterday, T-Mobile offers a new internet service at selected addresses in Olomouc tarif Fiber 8000 tempting for a symmetrical speed of 8 Gb/s. Optics running on XGS-PON technology have an extreme price and conditions.
The connection costs CZK 3,999 per month (this is not a typo) and the operator provides it in a pilot test, which, however, can be terminated at any time and cannot be jumped on from standard tariffs with a lower speed. It needs to be contracted as a new service.
„Of course, we realize that currently there are not many customers who would practically use the full potential, but this cannot stop us from innovating. Everyday data needs increase dramatically year by year and we want to be prepared in every way to satisfy the requirements of even the most demanding users,” says Michal Podlucký, manager of the optical internet segment at T-Mobil.

In the Czech Republic, operators already “routinely” offer 2Gb/s connections, but regional providers are no longer afraid of higher speeds either. For example, TrioNet in Mělník has a line with a speed of 5/2 Gb/s for 650 CZK per month, even double speed can be negotiated individually. Mostecký Softex only provides gigabit as standard, but symmetrical 10 Gb/s can be negotiated with it.
