The T-Mobile District management announced that after a year of evaluation and adaptation to the pandemic, the entertainment complex will begin a staggered pre-opening process.

This begins with the opening of the Mexican restaurant Lupe reyes which is now open to the public, and will continue with upcoming openings in the following months in the convention district.

Lupe Reyes is a restaurant focused on highlighting the authentic Mexican experience, bringing the folklore of Mexico to T-Mobile DISTRICT. Through its gastronomic proposal, whose protagonist are the tacos al pastor worked on the largest spinning top in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, Lupe Reyes pays tribute to the Guadalupe-Reyes Marathon, a festival of the Mexican tradition that celebrates with festivities and joy the period from December 12, Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, until January 6, Three Kings Day.

Regarding the gastronomic offer, Alessandro Salvatore who is also the operator of Lupe Reyes and co-owner of the Acapulco restaurant added “We are super happy to bring this Mexican concept in which all the elements are made in-house with fresh ingredients of the highest quality and that we can put into practice the craftsmanship of make the tacos al pastor “.

For his part, the architect Hans Moll-Stubbe, managing partner of PRISA Group, commented “When designing Lupe Reyes, we wanted to make sure to highlight the authenticity and freshness that characterizes it. Therefore, the space is located in such a way that visitors can appreciate the process of making the variety of tacos. In the background you will see the shelves of fruits and vegetables, you see the cooks preparing them and the protagonist is the spinning top located in the center of the bar ”.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of the artistic contribution in the establishment since they have several pieces that project the concept of space. Among them, the interior of the restaurant includes a mural of Mayahuel, goddess of the agave, painted by the Dominican artist Evaristo Angurria, and an installation by the multifaceted artist Alexis Bousquet, creator of Santurce es Ley, with three vintage televisions projecting the evolution of the Mexican television and scenes with iconic characters in the childhood of Puerto Ricans. Outside the space, there is a mural created by the Moriviví Collective representing the fresh elements of the menu, such as the corn in the tortilla and a Mexican lady being the protagonist. The interior design was worked on by Jeffrey Beers International, while local architects Gonzalo Ferrer and Adrianna Colón from Design + Development were the record architects.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the entertainment complex, overlooking the Central Plaza, an innovative and multi-sensory space that will celebrate its opening in a later phase, aligned with the inauguration of the project to international markets potentially at the end of 2021.

The T-Mobile DISTRICT team ensures that this staggered pre-opening period will serve to gradually introduce Puerto Ricans to all the concepts that are part of the entertainment center, making them part of its development, with the goal of eventually presenting T-Mobile DISTRICT to the world as a whole as it was conceptualized as the most innovative entertainment complex in the hemisphere.
